AK Governor Appeals Decision to Deny Pebble a Permit Citing “Constitutional Mandate”
Last Friday, Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy said he will file an administrative appeal on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ denial of a key permit for the gold and copper mine at the headwaters of Bristol Bay.
The basis of the appeal, which must happen before January 25, 2021, is on the state’s “constitutional mandate” to develop natural resources.
