Brisbane-based Seafood Wholesaler Fined $24,000 for Black Market Seafood Purchases
A Brisbane, Australia-based seafood wholesaler was hit with a AUD $24,000 fine (USD $18,557) for aiding a pair of fishermen to sell Spanish mackerel, yellowfin tuna and wahoo without a license.
The Fisheries Department of Queensland presented video evidence of the business owner receiving fish in exchange for cash payments.
