Samherji Managing Director to Step Down After Nearly 30 Years with Company
Haraldur Grétarsson, managing director of Samherji Holding’s Europe operations will resign, with Baldvin Thorsteinsson, son of the company’s CEO Thorsteinn Már Baldvinsson, to replace him.
Grétarsson directed the Deutsche Fischfang Union (DFFU) in Cuxhaven, one of Germany's oldest fisheries companies, and has served on the boards of various companies.
Since 1992, Grétarsson has held a role with Samherji. He will remain an advisor to the company for the remainder of the year. He noted that it was time for a change after almost 30 years with the company...
