Chicken of the Sea Settles Price-Fixing Case With Major U.S. Retailers

A number of major U.S. retailers have settled a class-action lawsuit filed against Thai Union-owned tuna canner Chicken of the Sea International (COSI).
According to a document filed in the U.S. District Court for Southern California, the Kroger Direct Action Plaintiffs, which consists of supermarket chains Kroger, Albertsons, Hy-Vee and H.E. Butt Grocery settled with COSI for its role in a tuna price-fixing conspiracy involving the country’s major tuna companies, COSI, StarKist and Bumble Bee Foods.
