Fishermen Concerned About Maine Governor’s Move to Expand Offshore Wind Research

Maine Governor Janet Mills introduced the state’s plan to create the first offshore wind farm focused on research in the U.S.
The farm will be located in the Gulf of Maine, with the research array located 20 to 40 miles offshore, containing a dozen or less wind turbines over 16 square miles of ocean, which the governor’s office described as far less than commercial wind lease areas along the east coast.
