West Coast Pink Shrimp Season a Win for Landings; Not so Much for Markets, Price
Call the 2020 shrimp season a muddled mess. The season opened in April, just as shutdowns due to the coronavirus were happening and the future in the face of the pandemic was unfolding.
But while the season may have opened on time, shrimpers on much of the coast held out for 45 days -- both in hopes of a better price and to let the small shrimp, prevalent at the beginning of the season, grow larger.
