Sernapesca Director Named Leader of APEC Oceans and Fisheries Group

At the 15^thmeeting of the APEC Working Group on Oceans and Fisheries, the Director of SERNAPESCA, Alicia Gallardo Lagno was named the new head of the group, taking over for the previous leader Patrick Moran of NOAA, Sernapesca said in a news release.

APEC is currently focused on responsible fishing practices by battling IUU fishing via data and information exchanges on fishing, trade, monitoring and control and surveillance (MCS) systems.
