ASC Certified Salmon Named ‘Best Choice’ for UK Shoppers

In its latest Good Fish Guide for UK consumers, the Marine Conservation Society (MCS) named Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) certified salmons with a green, ‘Best Choice’ rating.

This version of the MCS guide is the first time ASC salmon was investigated as certified salmon grew more available on shelves throughout the country’s supermarkets.

According to the ASC, the MCS looked at the Salmon Standard and how it can be applied to farming on both Scotland and Norway. The ‘Best Choice’ rating shows the strict requirements of the Standard, which covers escapes...
