Ecuador Reinforcing Biosecurity Measures for Shrimp Exporters
In an effort to guarantee the quality and safety of shrimp from Ecuador, the Ecuadorian Food Safety Quality Undersecretariat (SCI) announced this week that measures are being implemented by aquaculture establishments that export to the Chinese market.
According to SCI, companies must reinforce and ensure disinfection and hygiene measures for personnel, especially those in contact with the product and packaging. In addition, companies must provide personal protective equipment and supplies to prevent contagion between workers and possible contaminated surfaces.
