JAPAN: July Seafood Export Value Decreases By 14% to 17.3 Billion Yen
According to trade statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, exports of marine products (seafood and its preparations, and fish meal) in July increased by 6% year-on-year to 755,641 tons. The value decreased by 14% to 17,287 million yen. The export value fell by double digits for the second consecutive month. In the leading products, frozen scallops and yellowtail fillets were sluggish, while frozen albacore and frozen mackerel grew, analyzed Minato Shimbun.
