CBP: Seafood Harvested by the Da Wang to be Detained Due To Forced Labor
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced Tuesday morning that they will be detaining seafood harvested by the Da Wang, a Vanuatu-flagged, Taiwan-owned distant water fishing vessel. It’s believed that the Da Wang is involved with forced labor.
The CBP’s Office of Trade directed the issuance of a Withhold Release Order against the seafood harvested by the Da Wang based on information that “reasonably” indicated the use of forced labor, including physical violence, debt bondage, withholding of wages, and abusive living and working conditions...
