USCG Air Lifts Pregnant Crewmember From Factory Trawler to Cold Bay for Flight to Anchorage
Last Saturday, August 8, Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak aircrew hoisted a pregnant crewmember from a fishing vessel 200 miles northwest of St. Paul Island in the Pribilofs. The Coast Guard posted the bullitin late last night.
The crew member was working on the factory trawler Northern Jaeger, a 308-foot processor owned by American Seafoods. The processing ship was near St. Matthew Island in the Bering Sea. The woman was reportedly experiencing medical complications due to pregnancy.
