New Food Aid Program Links Alaska Fishermen to Food-Insecure Families in Pacific NW
The Wave Foundation, partnering with Sitka-based Alaskans Own, introduced its new healthy and sustainable food program local communities and regional food systems in northern Oregon.
The July 15 event at City Hall in Cascade Locks, Oregon was coordinated with the Columbia Gorge Food Bank and open to the public. Pre-event outreach focused on the area’s Tribal Nation communities and post-event outreach included distribution to Tribal in-lieu fishing communities along the Columbia River.
