Naknek Workers, Held in Quarantine in LA, Reach $440K Settlement with North Pacific Seafoods

In a bizarre twist on ways not to quarantine seafood workers while waiting for test results, some 165 plant workers and North Pacific Seafoods, owner of the Red Salmon plant in Naknek, AK, reached a settlement over the weekend. 

The suit charged NPS of unpaid wages, the failure to follow Covid testing and quarantine protocols and false imprisonment.

The story begins on June 10, when NPS’s newly hired workers from Mexico and the US were diverted at LAX and directed to a nearby Crowne Plaza ...
