European Commission Approves €720,000 in COVID-19 Relief for Bluefin Tuna Fishermen
The European Commission approved a €720,000 Maltese scheme which will provide support to self-employed Bluefin tuna fishermen impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
Fishermen will receive direct grants and the amount will be calculated based on the quota assigned by the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture to Bluefin tuna fishermen in 2020 and each beneficiary will receive no more than €120,000, the EC said.
