Department of Commerce Announces 2020 Regional Fishery Management Council Appointments
The United States Department of Commerce announced the appointment of 22 members to the eight regional fishery management councils that partner with NOAA Fisheries to manage marine fishery resources.
Every year, the Secretary of Commerce appoints about one-third of the 72 appointed members to the regional councils. The members are selected from nominations submitted by governors of fishing states, territories and tribes.
