Change to Paycheck Protection Program Allows Fishing Captains to Account for Crewmembers
A new rule released by the Department of Treasury and Small Business Administration will allow commercial fishing businesses to include crew member payroll when applying for loans from the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).
Previously, crew members could apply for PPP loans as independent contractors, but according to the Portland Press Herald, not many Maine-based deck hands applied.
