Kodiak Coast Guard Medevacs Injured Fisherman in Bering Sea's Far North
The call came into the District 17 US Coast Guard Command Center in Kodiak at 1:00 a.m. early last Monday. A 31-year old fisherman off the freezer-longliner Baranof was injured and needed a hospital. Watchstanders consulted with a flight surgeon and and launched four Kodiak-based aircrews to respond.
