CBP Seizes Illegally Harvested Seafood Imports at Hidalgo International Bridge
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Field Operations (OFO) discovered oysters, crabs and shrimp in a traveler’s belongings that were alleged to be in violation of Texas law at the Hidalgo International Bridge.
On May 13, a 49-year-old woman and U.S. citizen arrived from Mexico at the bridge and a CBP office referred her for further inspection. At that time, CBP’s agricultural specialists discovered significant quantities of the shellfish in a pair of ice chests.
