Mowi Signs Deal with Skaginn3X to Implement Salmon Cooling System
Salmon farmer Mowi signed an agreement with Skaginn3X to install a Sub-Chilling salmon cooling system at its Herøy facility in Norway.
Skaginn’s salmon cooling system received a patent in 2019 after an extensive R&D process. The system cools fish to -1.2 ℃ without the use of ice. The fish itself becomes the cooling refrigerant and stays at a sub-zero temperature for longer than if chilled with ice, Skaginn explained.
