Rhode Island Rep. Wants Direct to Consumer Sales for Shellfishermen
As Rhode Island’s shellfishers continue to battle with COVID-19’s impacts on their businesses, state representative Joseph M. McNamara (D-Dist. 19), is urging the Department of Environmental Management (DEM) to allow shellfishermen to sell their catch directly to consumers.
In a letter to the (DEM) Director Janet Coit, McNamara called for a change to the current policy to include shellfishers.
