ANALYSIS: Frozen Salmon Market Slips Amid Lack of Foodservice Demand
Frozen Atlantic salmon fillets continue to hit all-time import highs. Overall, the category is seeing a 27.7 percent increase year-to-date. Specifically, Chile, who is the category leader, is up 32.6 percent YTD and this month’s imports for March were 30.8 percent higher than those seen in February 2020. These YTD imports are at an all-time high with information dating back to 2009.
