Survey: Majority of P.E.I. Lobstermen Comfortable Fishing, Still Looking for Season Delay
The majority of lobster fishermen on Prince Edward Island are comfortable fishing during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, they would like to begin the season later than normal, according to a survey conducted by the PEI Fishermen’s Association (PEIFA).
The survey gathered input from 775 harvesters from LFA 24 and 26A, more than 80 percent of harvesters took part. The survey found that 64.2% of fishermen are comfortable taking their crew aboard and interacting with fish buyers while following public health guidelines...
