Louisiana Representative Secures Purchase for 20 Million Pounds of Gulf Shrimp to Help Food Security
U.S. Congressman Garret Graves, representing South Louisiana, helped secure 20 million pounds of domestic shrimp which will be purchased by the United States Department of Agriculture.
The shrimp will come from Louisiana and Gulf Coast shrimpers and processors. Graves sent a letter to USDA Secretary Sonny Perdue to thank him for directing the Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) branch for purchasing the shrimp.
