NOAA Finalizes 2020 Quotas for Atlantic Surfclam, Ocean Quahog
NOAA announced on Thursday that they have finalized the 2020 quotas for the Atlantic surfclam and ocean quahog commercial fishery. The quotas for both fisheries will remain "status quo" for 2020.
The quotas were previously projected back in February 2018. Since there were no overages in 2019, and no new biological information, NOAA confirmed that the Atlantic surfclam quota will remain at 3.4 million bushels for 2020. Meanwhile, the quota for ocean quahogs will remain at 5.33 bushels, and 100,000 bushels for Maine ocean quahogs...
