Scottish Fishing Company Fined Almost 5 Years After Crewmember's Death
MB Aquarius Ltd., a fishing company based out of Buckie, Scotland, has been fined £50,000 almost five years after the death of a crewmember.
On August 17, 2015, Annang Neurtey, 47, was struck by a wire while on board the Aquarius, a 20 meter trawler. According to Scotland's Crown Office & Procurator Fiscal Service, "a wire that had been paid out behind the vessel became snagged on the seabed and a rope intended to stop the wire snapped and released the wire which struck Mr. Neurtey."
