Get ready to spend big this Valentine's Day.
The National Retail Federation (NRF) has been tracking types of gifts and planned spending for Valentine's Day, and according to the organization, those that are celebrating plan to spend an average of $196.31, which is a 21% increase from last year's previous record of $161.96. Total spending is expected to reach $27.4 billion, which is a 32% increase from last year's record of $20.7 billion.
