Crew Safe After Fire on Ocean Choice Vessel

A fire onboard a fishing vessel Wednesday afternoon was contained, with all crew safe and accounted for, according to Canadian seafood company Ocean Choice International.

The Newfoundland Lynx, which has a capacity of 31 crew members, docked in St. Anthony just before 1 a.m. Thursday.

"When she arrived to the wharf, we went aboard just to check it out and make sure everything was safe and sound," said town fire chief Peter Green.

Only residual smoke remained, and the fire department did not treat any crew for burns or smoke inhalation...
