Sunken Fishing Vessel Found 140 Feet Below Surface off Martha’s Vineyard
The fishing vessel that sunk with four crewmembers aboard off Martha’s Vineyard on November 24 was found 140 feet below the reported sinking on Sunday, the Massachusetts Environmental Police told South Coast Today.
The vessel Leonardo departed New Bedford on November 24 and sank about 25 miles off the southwest coast of Martha’s Vineyard. One crewmember, Ernie Garcia was rescued, but the other three, Capt. Gerald Bretal, Mark Cormier and Xavier Vega are considered lost at sea.
