Poronay, a Russian fish company based in the Sakhalin region, aims to become one of the leading fish and seafood producers in the domestic market in years to come, according to some market sources and local analysts.
For this purpose, the owners of the company recently closed a deal for the acquisition of local rival Everon. Local businessmen Efim Malkin and Irina Panchenko, reportedly affiliated with Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, negotiated the deal.
