ANALYSIS: Lobster Imports Lower in August, Led by Fewer Shipments from Canada
The number of lobster products entering the U.S. in August was down by 7.5 percent when compared to a year ago, led lower by the decline in lobster products coming from Canada. August 2019 imports totaled 10.49 million pounds compared to 11.34 in August 2018. Year-to-date figures are also 7.5 percent behind last year; reflective of a 6.6 million-pound shortfall.
