Chris Oliver, Assistant Administrator for NOAA Fisheries responded to the Maine Lobstermen’s Association’s (MLA) concerns with the April 2019 Take Reduction Team (TRT) agreement.
On August 30, the MLA announced the withdrawal of members of Maine’s lobster industry from the Atlantic Large Whale Take Reduction Team citing data flaws and the potential of the agreement to negatively impact lobstermen.
