Vessel Speed Restrictions Southeast of Nantucket Extended Due to Right Whale Sightings
NOAA Fisheries announced that the voluntary vessel speed restriction zone southeast of Nantucket, Massachusetts has been extended through September 24, 2019.
The restriction was extended after an aggregation of right whales was spotted 22 nautical miles on September 9. Mariners were requested to route around this area or transit through at 10 knots or less.
