FDA Refuses Antibiotic-Contaminated Shrimp from India and China in August
For August, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration reported two out of the 72 (2.8%) total seafood entry line refusals were of shrimp for reasons related to banned antibiotics, the Southern Shrimp Alliance said in a press release.
Through the first two-thirds of the year, the FDA has refused a total of 52 entry lines of shrimp for reasons related to veterinary drug residues, compared to 53 during all of last year and 55 in all of 2017.
