Kroger Releases 2019 Sustainability Progress Report, Goals for 2020
On Monday Kroger released their 2019 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, which outlines the grocery retailer's sustainability efforts. Kroger proudly boasts that they were able to reduce food waste generated by retail stores by 9%, as well as reduce the amount of plastic resin by 9.1 million pounds in their "Our Brands" packaging. On the seafood front they were able to source 88% of wild-caught fresh and frozen seafood from certified sustainable sources.
