Record-breaking Catch of June Pink Salmon in South Alaska Peninsula
More than 7.5 million pink salmon have been landed in the South Peninsula as of last weekend, shattering records of pink salmon catches in June, and the month isn’t over yet.
Historically, the pink salmon fishery for stocks returning to rivers in Alaska’s South Peninsula starts in July. ADF&G’s full management of pinks and chums begins then with aerial surveys to monitor escapement.
