2019 Gulf of St. Lawrence Halibut Quota Increases 15% Above Last Year’s Quota
The Department of Fisheries and Oceans raised the total allowable catch for Atlantic halibut in the Gulf of St. Lawrence to 1,492 mt, a 15 percent increase over last year’s quota. The decision was announced June 12 in a statement from the Fish, Food and Allied Workers (FFAW) headquartered in Corner Brook, Newfoundland.
