Canadian Committee on Fisheries and Oceans Wants Changes in BC’s Quota System
Ottawa - The House of Commons Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans issued a report yesterday calling on Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) to begin creating a “more equitable quota licencing regime for the West Coast commercial fisheries.”
The report, which includes twenty recommendations for changes, came after less than a year of study and five hearings of 40 selected witnesses.
