Royal Greenland raises $220m from bond market amid fleet renewal, processing expansion

BRUSSELS, Belgium -- Royal Greenland has issued bonds to a value of $220 million on the US private placement market (USPP), as the state-owned company builds new trawlers and invests in processing plants for whitefish in its home country and shellfish in Canada.
The placing of the bonds on the USPP comes as Royal Greenland is replacing the trawlers Sisimiut and Qaqqatsiaq with two new-builds, to be delivered in May and November of 2019 respectively, from a Spanish yard.
Royal Greenland has also invested DKK 10m in a move into the lobster business in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador...
