Gloucester Lobsterman Begins Jail Sentence for Illegal Landing of Undersized Lobsters
Gloucester lobsterman James A. Santapaola Jr. has started his 47-day jail sentence for illegally landing undersized lobsters.
As SeafoodNews.com previously reported in November 2018, Santapaola Jr. was arrested by Massachusetts Environmental Police following an investigation into illegal lobster fishing in state and federal waters. Officers discovered that Santapaolo Jr.'s 600-lb lobster catch included "dozens of undersized, oversized and illegally mutilated lobsters."
