Cell-based meat companies are nothing new in the U.S., but Southeast Asia's first cell-based meat company just debuted their lab grown shrimp at the second Disruption in Food and Sustainability Summit in Singapore last week.
Shiok Meats was formed last August by cell biologists Dr. Sandhya Sriram and Dr. Ling Ka Yi with the mission to "bring delicious, clean and healthy seafood and meats by harvesting from cells instead of animals."
