Síldarvinnslan hf., one of Iceland's largest fishing companies, has announced that it will be closing down its fishmeal factory in Helguvík. According to a statement on the company's website, it plans to shut down the 22-year old facility in Iceland's southwest after this year's capelin season comes to an end.
