Chilean salmon producers reduced their antibiotic use by 18% in 2018
New reporting by Chilean salmon companies (22 out of 24 companies) shows that antibiotic usage decreased 18% in 2018.
323 tons of antibiotics were used on 842,679 tons of salmon and trout in 2018. This is 18% lower than the 394 tons used on 791,793 tons of salmonids in 2017.
Various environmental groups, along with some major customers, have sought the annual reporting on use of antibiotics.
