Arrests in China as Authorities Launch Another Seafood Smuggling Crackdown
Chinese authorities have launched another wave of crackdowns on smugglers bringing seafood into China via Vietnam, with 66 individuals arrested on Thursday.
In the early hours of Thursday, Nov. 29, Chinese officials "knocked out" 16 smuggling gangs in coordinated raids at 55 locations in Tianjin and Shanghai, as well as in provinces Hebei, Liaoning, Jiangsu, Shandong, Guangdong, and Guangxi, according to the country's top customs authority.
