ASC Celebrates China's 10th ASC-Certified Farm

The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) had good reason to celebrate at the China Fisheries and Seafood Expo earlier this month. Thanks to Weifang-based Green Life Foods and Pengcheng Marine Products Company in Guangdong, China now has 10 ASC-certified farms that together produce over 40,000 tons a year.

ASC first launched in China in 1012 with the help of the China Aquatic Products Processing and Marketing Alliance and WWF. The initial goal was to improve the practices at tilapia farms, however, the country now ha ASC-certified farms for bivalves and shrimp ...
