EJF Says Chinese Interests Illegally Own Most of Ghanian Industrial Fishing Fleet; Call for Reforms

The Environmental Justice Foundtion (EJF), based in the UK, has released a report on Chinese involvement in Ghana's industrial fishery. This fishery has been plagued by overcapacity, addition of new trawlers despite a 'moratorium', and a practice where industrial trawlers transfer catches at sea to modified fishing canoes, which then land and sell the catch in competition with traditional canoe fishers.
