ICES Lowers Catch Advice on Barents Sea Cod and Haddock, Little Recruitment Occurring

ICES, the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea, has issued its latest scientific advice for cod and haddock in the Barents Sea.
In recent years the Joint Norwegian/Russian Fisheries Commission has set catch targets above ICES advice, but they have followed the same general trends.
For Cod, ICES is recommending a 2019 TAC no higher than 674, 678 tons. This is 36,000 tons than the 2017 recommendation.
