The North Pacific Fisheries Management Council adopted a new more accurate model to estimate the size of the Chinook run in the Kuskokwim River system at their early June meeting in Kodiak.
The model is used to calculate part of the Western Alaska Three River Index, a calculation used in determining the level of Chinook bycatch in the Bering Sea pollock trawl fishery. The old version of the model has been overestimating the size ...
