Increased Shrimp and Tilapia Aquaculture in Mexico Driving Large Increase in Feed Production

The leader of the Mexican Trade Association Conafab, representing food and animal nutrition, Genaro Bernal, said that growing Mexican demand for aquaculture products was boosting the feed industry.
Shrimp is the primary aquaculture product, accounting for 56% of the total volume, followed by tilapia, carp and oysters. Total aquaculture volume in 2017 was 397,712 tons, which is up 57% in five years.
