ENGO Pushes for Significant Change in Canada's Fisheries Act

While the Fisheries Act includes provisions to rebuild fish stocks, at least one conservation group says those provisions don't go far enough.
The House of Commons Committee on Fisheries and Oceans' meeting on May 1 included Joshua Laughren, executive director of from Oceana Canada, who said Canada's Fisheries Act changes are too weak to rebuild some stocks and maintain sustainable levels of some stocks into the future.
